When I was younger, I learned Soy was beneficial for the skin. I would cleanse my skin with homemade Soy Milk to achieve a natural, glowing complexion. I chose to cleanse with Soy Milk because it contained isoflavones. Isoflavones are phytoestrogens that mimic the effects of estrogen. In women, as we age, estrogen hormones decline. When estrogen hormones are deficient, wrinkles and fine lines are more prominent. We need Soy to increase collagen production and improve the skin's elasticity, but also to increase the production of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Here are a few of my favorite skin care products with Soy.
Neutrogena Visibly Even Foaming Cleanser: Was creamy and had a subtle fragrance. The cleanser was gentle on my skin and left it soft, smooth, and clean. It also removed my makeup. Even though it contained gentle exfoliating beads, they were too mild to remove dead skin cells. The cleanser didn't over-dry my skin in the summer, but it did at the beginning of winter. When I used this cleanser in the winter, I had to combine it with a very hydrating moisturizer, so my skin wouldn't dry out. The cleanser did not leave my skin radiant or even my skin tone as claimed, but it worked great as a good, gentle cream cleanser. I would recommend this cleanser to all skin types.
Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30: Was lightweight and had a very noticeable fragrance. The moisturizer absorbed rather quickly into my skin and didn't feel greasy. In a few months, the moisturizer evened out my skin tone and reduced blotchiness, discolorations. It also faded post acne marks when I used it consistently. Since the moisturizer evened out my skin tone and protected it from sun exposure, it felt like a perfect find. I loved this moisturizer, but it would be better if it was more hydrating and came in a larger tube. Also, the lotion stung my eyes badly. I would recommend this sunblock lotion to combination, oily, and acne prone skin types.
